Thia Martin was raised in Chicago with gifts as a natural artist. From her earliest memories, she created elaborate visual worlds where she could live into them. As early as six years old, she was creating portraits using an intuitive style. This creativity allowed images to emerge as the creations let her know how they wanted to be shaped.
